This paper presents preliminary results of the current distribution and abundance of sea snakes in the Visayas and Mindanao. Thus far, 19 sites have been visited during 2011–2013. Four species were found on coral reefs and rocky shores while two species were observed in rivers and mangrove swamps. The Turtle-headed Sea Snake Emydocephalus annulatus, appears to have a very patchy distribution in the Bohol Sea. Further studies are needed to determine the total Philippine sea snake fauna and its population status.
